Tina is still dancing despite her lung cancer diagnosis
Tina, a mum and grandma, refuses to let Stage 4 ALK+ lung cancer stop her from planning for the future.
I’m 57, a mum of two, and a devoted grandma to Archie. I love walking, music, and can dance for hours when the mood strikes! In 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 ALK+ lung cancer. It was a shock, especially as a never-smoker. My symptoms included a persistent cough and ongoing pain in my chest and upper back, but I didn’t think it could be something this serious.
Now, I’m focused on making the most of the time ahead. I’m planning a cruise for my 60th birthday and, more importantly, I want to see my grandson, Archie, go to school and spend as much quality time as possible with my children.
I can’t emphasise enough how much joining the ALK charity meant to me. The support I received after my diagnosis, when I was scared and uncertain about what the future held, was invaluable.
