An unrelated scan revealed early-stage lung cancer
For Carla, a 44-year-old mother and grandmother, a routine scan changed everything.
I’m Carla, a happily married 44-year-old with two grown children and a beautiful grandbaby. My days are filled with family, friends, and plenty of dancing—I’m often called the “dancing queen.” I love exploring new towns and cities with my husband, and I never miss a chance to dress up for a good fancy-dress party.
In 2019, during a scan for an unrelated condition, doctors noticed something unusual. They kept an eye on it with routine scans, but it wasn’t until 2023 that I was told it had grown—and that it was lung cancer. With no symptoms, I had no idea anything was wrong. I was lucky it was found at Stage 1.
I’m looking forward to many more years watching my grandchild grow and creating lifelong memories with my loved ones. Life is precious, and my advice is simple: live life to the fullest…do what makes you happy.
